We ride on Enfield motorbikes. The Enfield brand is originally from Britain and now exclusively made in India (imagine the Harley Davidson of the Subcontinent). The Best of Nepal journey follows trade routes that have been used for centuries within Nepal and have now become scenic highways. After a tour of legendary Kathmandu Valley, we continue along the Prithvi Highway between Kathmandu and Pokhara to majestially perched Bandipur, a village overllooking the Marsyangdi River Valley.

The ride continues along the scenic highway to Pokhara, a tourist haven and Nepal's top tourism destination alongside Nepal's second largest lake, Fewa Tal. From Pokhara we follow the bountiful Adi Khola River Valley on a ride to the hilltop station of Tansen above the Kali Gandaki River Valley. We continue from Tansen into the bountiful Tarai region of Nepal's southern plains to the Buddhist pilgrimmage destination of Lumbini, birthplace of Buddha. (Lumbini is one of four sacred locations of what is known as The Buddhist Circuit. Of these four, Lumbini is the only one located in Nepal -- the other three are in India: Bodh Gaya--site of  Buddha's enlightenment, Sarnath--site of his first teaching and Kushinagar--site of Buddha's earthly death.)

Our next destination after Lumbini is a leisurely ride to Chitwan and world-famous Chitwan National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Chitwan is full of rare plant and animal wildlife and scenic jungle landscapes. We take a chance to explore Chitwan with enchanting jungle activities including choice of safari by elephant back, foot, jeep or even canoe with a skilled local naturalist to lead the way. After Chitwan we make a scenic ride as we climb back up to relatively cooler Kathmandu Valley.

Day to Day

Day 01Arrival at Kathmandu’s International airport (1350 m / 4450 ft)Welcome to Nepal. You will be greeted at the arrival area of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu's international airport by our representative and escorted to your hotel. Take time to refresh yourself after your international travel. The first evening is open to enjoy as you like, rest and relax at the hotel or explore the surroundings.

Day 02Sightseeing of Kathmandu Valley and familiarity session with Enfield bikesAfter a leisurely breakfast, our skilled guide leads a tour of Kathmandu Valley’s highlights and attractions, including magnificent World Heritage Sites of cultural and historical significance. After the tour, we will hold a pre-departure discussion with our Tour Leader Aman and crew. We will transfer to the bike garage and inspect your bikes and make a test ride for familiarity.

Day 03Ride to Bandipur (1036 m / 3400 ft)After breakfast ride to Bandipur. Bandipur is an enchanting, Newar hamlet perched on a hilltop near Dumre. It overlooks the Marsyangdi River Valley and is a sensational place to unwind. The mountain panorama is magnificent along with ancient forts, temples and one of Nepal’s largest caves to explore, too, if time and interest is sufficient.

Day 04Ride to Pokhara (827 m, 2713 ft)After breakfast ride to Pokhara. Pokhara is a place of remarkable natural splendor. It is Nepal’s most popular destination and lies under the protection of sacred Machhapuchhare (6977 m/22,890 ft, aka, Fishtail Peak ) of the majestic Annapurna Range. Pokhara is located next to Phewa Lake the second largest lake in Nepal and the center of all attractions in Pokhara.

Day 05Explore World Peace StupaPokhara has many attractions to choose from including a limestone cave, waterfalls, the Seti River, Tibetan refugee camps and more. The World Peace Pagoda lies on a ridge top above the lake and offers glorious views of the Himalaya and network of valleys below. Optional items (extra fees apply) include paragliding, bungee jumping, a jungle zip line and even river rafting.

Day 06Ride to Tansen (1310 m, 4298 ft)After breakfast we ride to Tansen is another hilltop 'station' (town) in the western hills of Nepal. It is beautifully located on the highway between Butwal and Pokhara, on the crest of the Mahabharat Range (also referred to as the Lesser Himalaya) above the valley of the Kaligandaki River to the north. The town enjoys a moderate climate and the most important landmark is the octagonal Pavilion in the middle of Sitalpati, the main market square.

Day 07Ride to Lumbini (150 m, 492 ft)After breakfast ride to Lumbini, the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautam – later known by the title of Buddha. It is a major pilgrimage site for Buddhists from around the world. The Buddha lived between roughly 563 and 483 BCE. After arriving Lumbini and a short rest, sightseeing of Lumbini Garden with a number of temples, including the Mayadevi Temple named after Buddha’s mother and marking the precise birth site.

Day 08Ride to Chitwan (230 m, 715 ft)After Breakfast ride to Chitwan. The area takes its name from the Chitwan Valley, one of Nepal's southern valleys between the Mahabharat and Siwalik ranges, both considered foothills of the Himalayas. Chitwan has particularly rich flora and fauna. Nepal's first national park, the Chitwan National Park together with the adjacent Parsa Wildlife Reserve support a species diversity much higher than any other on the Indian subcontinent. Rare species include Bengal tiger, gharial and the world's second largest population of Asian Rhinoceros, and also leopards, Mugger crocodile, Indian rock python and several species of deer. Day 09Safari Day at Chitwan National ParkExplore different jungle activities with a local naturalist including elephant rides, jungle walks, crocodile breeding center, canoeing, bird watching and more.

Day 10Ride to Kathmandu After breakfast we depart to Kathmandu passing through scenic fields and villages along the way to the ancient capital of the Himalaya. The rest of the time is available to explore the city on your own, search for souvenirs for friends and loved ones back home, and relax and enjoy yourself after the remote, high elevation trekking. In the evening we will enjoy a farewell dinner together.

Day 11International Departure from KathmanduOur representative will escort you to the airport for your departure back home. We are sure that you will have enjoyed the experience and our services. As you travel to your own country, hopefully you will remember us and Nepal very fondly. Farewell friend.
